haha yeah. doing hooka as in hooka. shi-sha. whatver you may call it. but im surprised..you guys know what hooka is down there?? man.. i feel stuff has changed so much. and your 18?????????? wow. what is "alien lingo" anyway. i mean - no offense, but some 14 year old "wannabe" gangster girls type like that here or perhaps "fob" korean girls, but thats about it.

anyway. im not saying your any of the mentioned above - im just noticing the cultural trend differences.

well i have a lot of different views about 8000 year old boring karnatic music. i mean i had a lot of your views, and i wasnt particulatly all into karnatic music etc., but i guess as i grew and learned a lot more stuff etc, i kinda respect it now. i dunno. differences in opinion. i dont want to be like adults - "you kids are stupid. this stuff is great. respect it. blahblha". but i dont know. i personally have come to respect it and appreciate it. i am learnig mirudangam now, and i really hope i can learn guitar as well.

so anyway. thats me in a nutshell. thanks for the reply btw.

hey could i join the discussion 2... could i ......could i..... plsssssss....... :)...welll.... i have lived in del.. all my life...but allllll my relatives live in chennai ...... so i do come down there like evry year(atleast once....) n yup i also agree ...the place has changed like hell.......totally in certain aspects ...though things like the hot family dosas at sarvana bhavan still remain the same.......(yuuummmyyyy.......)..u know the llllooooooonngggg ones.... and i'm happy to say del finally has its own branch...(finnalllyy,,,) ....but getting bak to the discussion abt carnatic music..well my parents like almost all southindians are absolute fans of it... n i agree with g_gal...whats the point of playing the same old songs again n again,,,,,, i for my share haven't gone for many kacheri's in del but the ones that i have been to were ok ....(i guess the fact that i've been to only a few... helped me stay awake...:)...) i mean its not as if i don't like that genre of music ... i do like parts of it... instrumental mostly...but i feel what makes it boring at times is the repetition..... guess i shd stop jabbering now....huh....

    death_metal_fan oh goody, it's a woody!

guitar_gal, english or as you call it "alien lingo" is absolutely ridiculous to be completely honest. Maybe you think using such abbreviations is cool or hip or whatever but it's a pain in the arse for people reading your posts.

hey natasia, r u a tamilian basically or juz dat yer rels live here?? n yea, i DO like certain aspects of kacheris.. da mridangam n da ghatam fascinate me. but hey, dat dusnt stop me frm snorin wid my head on my mom's lap. waz doin dat 4 soooooooo many yrs. now iv stopped accompanyin my mom. :)

n harish, like i said.. dis cud trigger a real big debate in here. no amt of argument or sharin of views or watevr is gonna make u or me change our opinions.. rite? so... well, its always gud 2 b interested in various kinds of music. u learn a lot dat way. as long as u r interested, nothin can stop u.

n hey, im sorry, wat IS hooka?? da only meanin i kno 4 hooka is dat smokin pipe sorta thingy dey use in rajasthan n all dose places. n im SURE u dint mean dat! "shi-sha"??

u neednt be all " oh i didnt know people listen to metal here"..
ive been listening to metal all my life... and i definitely do NOT need some indian guy living in the US to be judgemental abt my music tastes or what "we" listen to here...
i can listen to whatever the heck i want to....
