I agree with you. One of the things that kinda annoys me about'Dance Of Death is the length. With Dance Of Death the album length has got even longer. A lot of the songs are epics which describe historical events. I like some of them enough to listen to the entire song but some even though I like musically, I never listen till the end. For example I play 'Paschendale' almost everyday but rarely do I ever finish the whole song. This is even more true of 'Rime Of The Ancient Mariner'. Clocking in at well over 13 minutes, I have listened to the whole song just once even though it is awesome. This is the main reason why I tend to like Maiden's non-epic songs which are shorter and thus have a greater playability factor. This explains why my favorite songs on Dance Of Death are probably 'Montsegur', 'Rainmaker' and 'Wildest Dreams' even though I like 'Paschendale' and the title track very much.
