How would a setup like this sound.. Guitar>pedal(amp modelling or distortion)>DI box>mixer...... Is it a good idea..... would it be a good alternative to using a processor Just checking///
yeah ..its not a bad idea ..processors destroy the natural guitar sound .. get some have some basic processor for effects and buy some pedals to give the sound some boost ..get a delay pedal ..
Guitar -> AMP modeller -> DI box is fine but Guitar -> Pedals -> DI Box will give u nothing but buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzy distortion you need a speaker simulator before the DI box. I really don't remember the scientific reason for that but pedals->DI->PA is a BAD idea, do NOT do it
^ Those should do the job well. A pure DI box would just take care of signal level and impedance issues, but it sounds horrible with pedals because you don't have any speaker shaping the sound. I learned this the hard way when a sound guy took the line-out from my MG into the mixer. You can look at the Behringer Ultra-G: https://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Behringer-GI100-UltraG-DI-Box?sku=150934&src=3SOSWXXA
