i held her in my arms
    trying to comfort her
    hoping she would find
    solace even for a moment
alas it was in my mind
    i watched her in pain
    wondered what
    someone had to gain
    felt helpless and empty
    as i watched her
    cry those empty tears
    proving all my fears
    i held her tight
    near my bosom
    as the light of life
    faded from her eyes
i lay her down on the grownd
    cold lifeless there she lies
    felt abyss in my soul
as i saw my hope die...
