yup thanx for the first point. I Actually meant to type in Scale but ..:beer: .. maybe mistyped

and (I have only had four classes in indian classical) Marwa is the Aashray Raaga (or sumthin like dat) of the maarwa thaat. which means that it contains all the eight notes. the raaga that u said is (I think) pooriya

But ya, even i agree now that the raaga is not maarwa. i forgot it has an augumented fourth rather than a perfect one (does have a flat second though)!!! (he he .. mistake again.)

So have we finally decided what's the scale of the song : It's open to interpretation since there's no direct mapping between Indian ragas and western scales; however I think we could describe it in the form a scale and a mode

Anyways, as regarding Indian Classical Music, I am mostly self-taught, so I may be wrong about Marwa; but for sure Dard-e-disco is not Marwa; I will need to check on this in more detail...

Well keoraf ,
The line contains same chord thats why i post earlier that I will post first
line atleast and the line contains B major chord .

That is the mistake i'm indicating praaji .

About raag . Main chup rahoonga nahi to sab bolenge ki bolta hai .

The origional person who post here is still not present here in the city.
That's why i can not tell you about scales but being a singer i will like
to share something about raaga's.

The marwa raaga mainly uses these sawar's -

Sa ---- Komal Re ---- Ga ---- Teevra Ma ---- Pa ---- Dha ---- Ni

But in this song Teevra Ma is not used , Do it ?

instead some notes used in it are Komal Re , Komal Ga , Komal Dha and
Komal Ni that suggest it is raaga Bhairvi but still it is not raaga Bhairvi .

But atleast you can not say that the raaga is Marwa without using
Teevra Ma even once.

May be you are right because I'm new in the field of music .
But one thing is for sure that first 2 and half line contains
only single chord and on word PARI chord is clearly B major
that's why i claim that the scale is B major .
Mr. Keoraf rightly said that if you use 2 chords in a line their
will be problem with the timming .

Still the antra starts with Em chord.

First make sure that the RAAG you claim is correct or the SCALE.

The Raga is Not Maarwa (because it contains a teevra Ma .. but the song doesn't have a teevra ma .. i have clarified that in ma second post)

I wouldn't normally have replied but since somebody seems so interested in my input, I'll just tell you that I read the chords keoraf posted on the first page and reckoned that I'd post that the scale was E harmonic minor. it's a little difficult figuring out chords since I don't have a guitar.


apple singh: Why would there be an F in the harmonic minor scale (or even minor scale for that matter)?


Also, if you're expecting me to take up your challenges, that's not going to happen. I don't know about you but ego went out of me with adolescence.

 

Keoraf sir is correct the scale is Em .
And about chord of first lines as indicated by Keoraf is also correct .
Boomrang it is true that you can use B major chord there but
Em chord is also sounds good you can use anyone of the chords .
