Yeah, it will be gud... But luk fr some other guitars too, newy cort offers best specs in a price range... N better try out amp yrself... Thou roland is almost unanimously praised n i vote fr it too... Still the like fr tones of a amp is quite subjective...

What's with the whole passives won't do for metal idea? Especially through a freaking Zoom/Digitech and SS amp. Passives will do just fine for metal.

well a whole bunch of metal guitarists rely on actives to do their bidding..........so i thought there has to be a reason for that..........

Well a whole bunch of metal guitarists use high gain tube amps/preamps to get their sound, so I think the reasons are not exactly what you think.

@metalmickey - That Musician's Mall site is cool...but as with Bajaao, the NOC, and half the country's rock/metal scene, why are all the good things in Mumbai? Also, try to learn to use the Edit button a bit. xD

@thehundredthone, angel - What're the tonal differences between actives and passives anyway? I thought active>passive, till I was told otherwise.

    angel_of_sin bassist.....

an active pickup uses an active power source like a battery....so they use an electronic circuitry ....whereas passives dun need a power source to function they are in lay man's language wires wound around a magnet.........

So actives can sometimes give more better output and their output doesn't vary with length of wires and passives may give a pretty low output..........and also from my own experience, actives give less hum than passives..........

    thats a myth...
@ultrabot: actives>passives, dats a myth too... Its just a difference in tone, actives are brighter, passives give a more organic feel.
Listem to sound samples, u'll get an idea. Chk fr youtube videos too.
