Hi all, Want some help from the guitaring gods..:nw: I have just installed FXbox on ma laptop and wanted to connect my gb&A electric to the soundcard. But alas..the connector from ma electric outsizes my soundcard port. The pluggin from my guitar is too big for my sound card port: what to do??? n e convertors required or what???
u need a kind of adaptor/convertor its just a type of plug u plug the guitar wire to the convertor n plug the convertor to the pc/laptop
I'll be more descriptive. The guitar outlet plug is 1/4" Jack (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_plug). Your soundcard inlet is 1/8" socket. So you need a convertor, which you can get at small electronics shops (not the household consumer electronics one though, am talking about teh ones where you can get soldering iron etc). This convertor will allow you to plug in the 1/4" in. The convertor will havea 1/8" jack as the output. Which you can plug into your soundcard line-in or microphone port (whichever you want)
better description by alpha here is a pic its a quite cheap one ive got : the black one is the wire from guitar to convertor the golden colored one is the convertor
