Um...sorry to bother again, but this time another issue, as you probably might have seen, i have the RR copy with a DiMarzion X2N bridge and some model of Seymour Duncan on neck. Apart from crappy Korg AX1G, i wanted some suggestions and settings on how to get the COB tone, like on Bed of Razors or Silent Night Bodom Night, i'm just lusting after it, but i cant seem to figure it out on my own.
Try some of the higher gain Marshall settings on the AX1G...dunno how much it'll help though. It won't have any balls in the tone. If you're asking what gear he reallly owns, it's an ENGL Powerball. Since I don't think you'll buy that anytime, the GNX3000 and Pod XT Live have pretty good ENGL settings. From what I can hear, he's not using too many effects...sounds straight to amp. Try the amp settings with Marshall 412 cab settings...apparently thats what he uses.
Get a pedal which gives lots of gain. Check out the Landmine LD1. I might be forced into buying one soon
Landmine suxxx. Not much different from the Digitech DeathMetal. Fools havent given any gain/drive control. And then they claim that they can get Randy Rhoads tone out of it. *Joke of the Decade* It is good only for mindless shredding or playing thrash riffs. Ronnie, that Bixonix thing is awesome. Sounds like Marshall being driven to the point of busting. Grainy tone just like hell.
I know. It used to be very popular in the 80s and it went out of production for a long time. Another great effect that went out of production. Even Satriani uses one.
its a heavy metal pedal, thats what is specifically says. You wont get a bluesy/rock and roll sound of it. Only for metal. Just like the Tri Metal or DOD Death Metal. Oh btw, are there any other Heavy Gain pedals other than the Zoom Trimetal(discountinued) Boss Metalzone DOD Death Metal Landmine
Line 6 rules:beer: All three of those amp models are there in the XT Live too btw Coming soon...the POD XT live!!! 15 March:rule:
POD XT Live seems to be the most reasonable choice, it's expensive, but if i can somehow finance the investment, it'll serve as a reliable processor it seems, we'll see, thank you for your replies.
Disturbed: Check out these pedals also before making any choice: Tech21 GT2 / Tri OD/ Tri AC (any) Bixonic Expandora
