Hi. I've been playing acoustic steel guitars for quite a while now. I have lately decided to try my hand at classical/ spanish guitar as well. I have shortlisted The Yamaha C40 and The Ashton CG44 CEQ, both of which are available in Yamaha Music Square. Both cost at around 5K but the Ashton comes with a pick. Can anyone suggest which is better of the two?
I mean a pick up... Further Ashton is a cut-away model as well.. which is again a reason for more confusions..
i know for a fact that c40 is brilliant cause i've played it.... i guess you can check reviews for ashton since its classical with pick ups for 5000 its probably not as good in quality... i woud go for yamaha C40 but keep in mind 1. Buying a C40 would mean no cutaway 2. classical guitars are much softer in volume than acoustic so pickups are preferable... 3. you can get pick ups fitted into c40 later (confirm price and how he's gonna do this right now... DO NOT let him cut the guitar) 4. buying ashton would mean a future additional expenditure on an amp 5. I dunno about this cause i dunno if Ashton is somehow related to Yamaha but buying yamaha from a yamaha shop makes more sense... cause they will give you a better product since its their brand... i ts like furtados would always give u a good granada or Singh would always give you a good Jimm.... but vice versa wouldnt be true...
hey thanks for the advise. I guess Ashton is an Australian brand. Anyways will check with the yamaha dealer how a Pick up can be fixed with min damage to the guitar. Thanks again
