hey ssslayer u played it perfect even i used to play the same chords
but mine was
Dm-C-Bb-A and not A7
it sounds perfect kind of when i tried A7 thanks buddy.

i also used to play Amajor initially - coz i thought that Amajor is in the scale of Dminor ... then i realized: "quit being a purist prick n let the ears decide what to play ..."

A7 provides a kinda tension in the song/chord progression which is required ... Amajor also sounds ok ... but not spicy enuff for me ...
