Changing chords

I am learning guitar for about 5-6 months now.I can shift between almost all major/minor and 7th chords, but at times it's not accurate. sometimes i miss a string or sometimes i shift late

Is there any exercise which will help speed me up and also increase accuracy ?will doing normal finger exercises help in this case ?

 

practice is the key..............and scales etc will not only help you in shifting fingers but later on while composing solos and music........so go and practice and dun come back until you can play manhattan ..............

 

1) do practice..practice...and practice by mixing the chords like play with various combinations of chords
2) do not play at the time of listening to music...play with your own timings and singing

 

Use a metronome and Try playing chords arpeggio at one constant tempo. Important thing is to not to loose the tempo and keep playing in a continuous motion.
Try following exercise:
1> Hold A chord and pluck string 5413, D chord 4313, E chord 6543 6532 x 10 times
2> Hold Am play 5421234 Dm 4321234 G 65431234 x 10 times
3> Create some more exercise with some common chord changes like C/G/Dm etc..
