Babu aap kya bol rahe ho?

Please listen carefully and read my post properly
    the intro chords are /Dm/Gm/Dm/Gm/
but the LAST BAR has a chord change on the 3rd count yaar?
so that is why you play /Dm/Gm/Dm/Gm.A7/ and then he starts subhanallah
please listen - it is clearly a different chord played in between the last BAR and the first line of subhanallah

and if youre playing power 5th chords you play
    /D5/G5/D5/G5.A5/

And seriously man? I am surprised that you're talking about the strings being out of tune while explaining that small guitar piece???
    It is so clear???!!!!

What you have TABBED is the STRAIGHT NOTES that are played
That is the Bb note and the A note
BUT the INDIAN STYLE OF PLAYING with GRACE NOTES has been used here
There is a GRACE note added while playing the 3rd fret note (Bb note) on G string
so you play D open and then play the Bb note (3rd fret on G string) with your 1st finger and hammer and pull off the C note (5th fret on G string) with your 3rd finger and shift the first finger from 3rd fret to 2nd fret. this is the EXACT way that piece is played.

NOW, after all this, if you still feel you are right,
all i can say is BOSS you can always do your own thing!!!

    Cheers

THERE ARE TOO MANY VERSIONS floating on this site

Most of them are ok but require some small corrections.

Preferrably I would suggest that you check my chord chart for the correct versions. This is not because I have posted it, its because I have CORRECTED my own chords after consulting my buddy Sarosh, the ace guitarist who plays with SHAAN!!! :) you cant get a better source, except if you've consulted Jatin Lalit!!!

    Bhai bandbaaja,
we did that song (i sung it and played the keyboard). went well. But have just 1 doubt/suggestion.
It sounded a lot better when i played A# "honaa" of honaa hai tujhme fanaa (A7). I think it has that touch (just) of A# in there.
will appreciate your feedback on the same.
thanks and pls. keep up the great work.

    Hey Perth
Please check my chord chart properly
I have placed a Bb chord on HONAA and the A7 is in FANAA
Bb is the same as A# !!!!

Awesome. Honestly Bandbaja bhai, i didn't know Bb is A#.
is "Bb" interpreted as "B flat"?

  9. Bandbaaja

    Bandbaaja Pronounced Band Baaaa Ja

    Yup Bb is B flat

SO the notes in Western notation are

    C --- C# or Db --- D --- D# or Eb --- E --- F --- F# or Gb --- G --- G# or Ab --- A --- A# or Bb --- B --- C

As per conventions the note that does not have a FLAT (C & F) will have the next note called by their name
    HENCE
C# will be called C# and not Db
F# will be called F# and not Gb

all other sharps & flats are known by their FLAT names
    That is Eb, Ab, Bb

Therefore this is how you read a full cycle

    C C# D Eb E F F# G Ab A Bb B C

NOW What I have mentioned above is purely naming conventions.
However if you are a WESTERN MUSIC NOTAION READER it is important that a C# is treated as C# in certain places and as a Db in certain places though the note is the same.

I can explain more on this, provided you know staff notations and are interested in kowing more on this

    Cheers

As usual great song and great post bandbaaja!!

Here's a strumming pattern i came up with. unzip and play in loops

    using D[udu] dudu
the ones in sqr brckt a bit quicker. is pattern an OK one? correct method is in bandbaaja's posting.

Since I am not from hindi zone, I can't fully follow the meaning of this song (some hindi/urdu words i can't understand). sifarish means 'recommend'? and what does 'fanaa' mean? But it is a lovely song and i think from Aamir-Kajol movie?

    Hi Jozko

I heard your strumming pattern and it sounds excellent.

Just a question though, Do you strum on all the strings or only on bass (4-6th string) and then only on treble (1-3). I'm fairly new to playing the guitar and would really appreciate any help.

    Is it D[udu] dudu
    all BTB all BTB

I'm confused so any help would be really appreciated.

    Thanks

    thanks ekanshu,
happy to know that u heard and liked it! I am not good enough to advise. Just sharing my experience on chaand sifarish though

    1. I am striking with thumbs
    2. I am playing barre chords. (@ all: Learn it first if u r yet to. u can play most songs (millions!) to OK level in not time.

    3. First down stroke D is comparatively harder across all strings
    4. The next three strokes [fast udu] are mainly across treble strings with fretting hand muting applied during u and d. the last u is played without muting.
    5. Now next 4 dudu strokes. d is mainly down on treble strings. u is across all strings with comparativeley more pressure. next d and u are preferably muted across all strings.

Of course the key is to follow the rythm (dolak?) of the song and it will come automatically when u try for sometime. It is of course hard to convey in text, u know. but there could be a tip or two to help you make some modifications to ur current pattern. let me know if i can be of anymore help like a slow video or audio.
The correct method as in song is given by bandbaaja in his first post here

    rgds,
    joseph
