Cassandria - The Tale of Cassandra
    Part 1

"I see the rich fields burning to death
I know the cause for this shameless hate
Listen to these words, my father, my king
I've seen our end in this temple's ring
Kill him before he brings her to Ilium
And wroughts doom upon this land of the Sun
Listen, you fools, believe me this once
Do as I say, this is your only chance."

Proud is she who played with the Gods
Blessed with vision; yet cursed with words
Truth she sees in the winds in the skies
But a lie it sounds, the tear in her eyes
Oh Cassandra, dear maiden of tears
What joy can you feel with all your fears
Is this world a chessboard for heavens to play?
Are we just pieces, moved a step each day?

"Come to me, my dear chosen one
I'll treat you well, and do no harm
I'll give to thee a gift of sight
To see what's to be and see it right
This gift I give not free from my hands
To save thy self, thy kin, thy land
For first you must come before me and yield
And pay the price for the power you'll wield"

"Thanks for chosing me, O mighty Apollo
From among all else, and honouring me so
But harken to me, my words I have to say
Like your sister, a virgin I wish to stay
Leave me now, a priestess bound to you
Forgive me now, for denying before you
But go from here and bring no gift to me
Cassandra, Priam's daughter is all I'll be."

Proud is she who played with the Gods
Blessed with vision; yet cursed with words
Truth she sees in the winds in the skies
But a lie it sounds, the tear in her eye
Oh Cassandra, dear maiden of tears
What joy can you feel with all your fears
This world is just a chessboard for heavens to play
And we are just pieces, moved a step each day...

And so the bells tolled and time moved on
Prophecies fulfilled, and the babe was born
Unheard was she who told what she knew was true
Unharmed was he who grief would bring to accrue
The doom was wrought upon Ida, mountains bright,
Helen of Sparta, was promised by Aphrodite.
