hi, i have been trying to play some quick legato licks lately and now am stuck with a problem.while hitting the frets with the 1st 3rd and pinky finger serially and quickly...the pinky becomes a little tilted (instead of hitting the frets straight like the other fingers) and so the volume of the note the pinky hits is reduced to almost null. eg ------------- 12---------------------- ----------- 10--------10----------------- --------- 7--------------7-------------- ------11----------------11------------- ----9-------------------------9-------- --7-----------------------------7------- in this the highlighted notes are the ones hit by the pinky and are diminished. i just wanna know whether is it a common problem and can be overcomed with practice or my pinky is a lil different??
do this exercise for 10 mins a day and you will play the guitar faster than anyone u know..... I Know cause i have tried it!!!! What you play is not important how you play it is e--------------------------1h2--2p1--------------------------------- B----------------------1h2----------2p1----------------------------- G-----------------1h2-------------------2p1------------------------- D------------1h2----------------------------2p1--------------------- A-------1h2-------------------------------------2p1-----------2h3--- E--1h2-----------------------------------------------2p1--2h3------- Here 1 his your 3rd finger and 2 is your pinky (Little or 4th finger)... You have to do this till the 12th fret Picking you have to do is e-------------U--U------------- B-----------D------U----------- G---------U----------U--------- D-------D--------------U------- A-----U------------------U----- E---D----------------------U--- First is alternate picking and second is sweep picking... Hope this helps (it helped me a great deal)
