    Hey guyz;

I recently have this craze of learning the guitar. I stay in dubai and the guitar teachers here charge a lot so I am trying to learn from the net. I can read the tabs and play but I can't change the tabs and strings fast, anyway to do that?
I cannot not also memorise the tabs of any song as hard as I may try.
    Please Help Me Out guyz

    regardzzz

remembering tabs is always a problem
it would be better if you tried to remember the sounds and not the numbers
learn to listen and sing along with the notes you want to play
    one note at a time
and i dont think remembering tunes should be much of a problem
the problem that remains is how would you find the tunes on the guitar
well then try to look for patterns when you play a song
and if the whole song is too big for you then break it up into bits
and play each of the bits separately

(im jumping way ahead of myself here but - most of the songs follow a similar set of notes - called a scale. if you get that you will be able to play the song very easily)

    all the best
    hope i helped

    you in school or college??

i cant tell how much time it will take
    depends on you

it took me a year to start playing properly
but that was because i didnt have anyone to teach me or access to the net
plus i didnt even have a tuned guitar or anyone to tune it properly

im not saying it will take you as long as that
keep practicing whenever you get the time
eventually you will get the hang of it
given you dont quit in between
the first few months are frustrating

    all the best

If you wanna play tunes... You first learn the basic major and minor scales ... And also some basic finger workouts... And by the time u finish it u wudnt need to remember tabs or numbers ... u just have to know the sound to play things .....

Apart from what has been posted before, you need to put in a lot of time for finger-exercises.
    One way is
    |---1---2---3---4|
on all 6 strings from up to down
    then
    |---4---3---2---1|
in all 6 strings from down to up. Then shift forward one fret.

second variation is |---1---3---2---4| with the same technique that I listed above.

Here, for fretting (1) you should use your forefinger, for fretting (2), your index, (3) ring-finger and (4) pinky.

Practice this before you start "playing" songs, and you will find your speed and your accuracy improving. The above exercises also reduce "sympathetic tension" i.e. the effect when you move one finger, the ones beside it automatically move. This exercise helps you reduce that and you will be able to play more confidently.
