    Hi,

Can I use my existing computer speakers as an AMP for an electric guitar. I don't want to buy a separate AMP. I'm a newbie and am ready to spend 5-6K Rs. for an electric guitar. Please suggest a decent brand and model.
    I'll play Metallica mostly
    Regards,

Well the thign is that you will require two things:

    1. a device to create distortion
    2. a device to simulate guitar amp speaker cabinet

Now I think buying a small guitar ampo like Marshall MG10CD or 15CD would be much cheapoer than buying device that does those two mentioned things.

But you got one more choice: buy a processor.
That would give you a wide variety of sounds - from Metallica to Bryan Adams.

if u want the effects ,a computer cud be used, to simulate the eefects
    but amps are amps,
    i recommend that u buy a marshall

That's not all you will need a band pass or a combination of low pass and high pass filters to make your sound better.
