    faiq the simple thing for strumming is this.down up down.
    do practice that down down,up up ,down on Am,Emaj,n Gmaj
    this was prob wid me also but now its good
    i can strumm well:)

    strummin depends on the type of song u r playin....various styles can be adapted dependin on the mood of the song...listne to the song...the struumin will automatically start wen u hold the chord....

    hey dude tell exactly y u can't strum good is it..........
    1) i can't hold chords 2) i don't know pam muting n' stuff 3) why waste energy in strumming when lead is easy(if u think that u strongly need wakeup call!!)4) i wanna learn classical stuff.

    just a question how many of u dont use a plectrum??

    coz each time i use a plectrum hmmmm i tend to mess up n when i pplay without it i can play really fast n stum well

    hey spy - which plectrum r u using?? that makes a LOT of difference - ther r different plecs to use for lead/strumming - dont ever use the ordinary 5 buck plecs they screw up ur playing totaly -- for strumming use Fender Thin plecs - they kinda slide over the strings makes strumming real easy - for lead try sumthin like Dunlop Stubby 3mm plecs they help u to really hit the notes...

    try to hold a chord and just keep strummin watever u know and change chords simultaneously.try this for a week or two u'll get it.:)

    plectum, or Pick, watever u call it. Its a piece of plastic, usually triangular, used by ppl who call themselves guitarists to tickle their axes. Thats what a plectum is.........

    yep i use dunlop plectrum n i got a wide varietry ie on size n thickness

    but thought i prefer to play without it
