    Ok..at Tulasi's:
    Basic strat shape guitar = 7.7K;
Carved top heavier guitars(Les Paul,PRS type) = 9K;(he claims that its because of extra wood-work and more wood is wasted)
    Explorer,Flying..no idea..didnt ask him..could be around 8-8.5K
Best bet is to quote your specs and ask him yourself..PM me or Ronnie for the number

    ok,
like i'm plannin to buy a guitar with a shape jus like
adrain smiths's(iron maiden). the one he has in the
videos of aces high and 2 minutes to midnite. if any
of u guys have an idea of wat i'm sayin, jus temme
how much it wud cost. the guitar is like pointed on
all sides. black color. and the most important of all,
i want a double way tremolo. not single. double.

Isn't that just a standard black and white strat with a floyd rose?
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong

No this guy said he can do it but can't get the wood. I looked on the net...a 3/4" flame top is about $135 on a coule of sites...but the flame is REALLY good...PRS Private Stock quality...so I'm still pondering.
He showed me an alder PRS he had carved

its not a fender at all. its got like sharp edges.

    hey yeah,
the shape is 99% same except for, the edges r more sharper
and the color is like pitch black with some sort of golden lining.
apart from that, its the same guitar. so how much do u think it
will cost. i really dont need a floyd rose if its gonna cost extra bucks.
but do temme how much it will cost with the floyd rose and with out it.
and i also wanna make sure that it has a 2 way tremolo arm.
u know, jus to make those bike sounds n stuff.....

Depends on what Floyd Rose you talking about..good ones like Schaller can cost $100 too!!Korean ones ..I dunno.. maybe 1-2 k

I really dont think it should cost you more for the shape..its not carved or anything
About the two whammy-do you really need it right in the beginning? you definitely wouldnt be using it too much and it would be more gimmicky then anything else
If you get a Z-grade (i.e. any crap white metal thing like the Jackson licenced one) it will NOT stay in tune for very long. The good ones (Ibanez Lo Pro etc) will cost way more than someone starting to learn how to play should spend.

the double whammy is kinda necessity in certain van halen songs ...

other thatn that it is pure gimmick ...

No no I didn't its gimmicky in ALL situations
I just said it is completely for someone to acquire on his first guitar... hes going to use it only for 'scooter sounds' it seems
It can be used very very musically..witness "Blood and Tears' by Steve Vai or 'Esparanto' by Shawn Lane

    hey,
i have one electric so its not like this is my 1st time.
and i dont use the whammy jus for "bike sounds".
i use it for playin maiden, metallica etc... nd as he said
for some halen too. and u can make hell lot of stuffs
    with that.

Most people buy the Whammy for pure ego. They hardly ever use it.

^^ yeah......there isnt much things we can do using a whammy pedal comparred to others like wah wah!

    Same here
I have whammy bar, I used it only once or twice while playing Dimebag stuff (which i copuldnt succesfully :p: )

But it does sound cool on pinch harmonics, i must admit ...

He's talking about a whammy bar..you're talking about a whammy pedal
And you can do TONS with a whammy pedal..for a primer listen to RATM's 'Voice of the Voiceless' and 'Born of a Broken Man' or Vai's 'The Blood and Tears' where hes using a 4th up/5th down harmony in the heel/toe (or is it the other way round?) position while altering the pitch with the whammy bar..it boggles the mind.

^^ yeah i agree whammy pedal is better ...

infact heard that even Dimebag used whammy pedal for his squealing pinch harmonics rather than whammy bar ...

    hey guys,
i played a tulsin made custom of my guitar teacher's. the tone
is really good. its got like single side tremolo arm. but i was
not impressed with the touch. but my teacher said he had
loosened the strings for some reason. but on an overall basis,
    it was really good.
