Hi everyone! I started playing a guitar recently ...so far just used an accoustic but I can only keep the loaner for another 2 weeks or so & need to get my own. I want to get an electric guitar but do not know which one to get ... plus would an electric guitar be okay for playing indian & pakistani music (mostly indian movie songs)?? I dont know anything about guitars really so....any suggestions would be great...thanx! ~Sana

Phir vi...Wot's ur budget?? If under $400....Go for Samick guitars with floyd Rose, they are very very good...... If your Budget is under $1200 Go for PRS SE custom series.....Those are brilliant! If ur budget is under $3000grin Go for Ibanez Gem series :nw: :nw:
but sugata he is still new to guitaring so it want help him to play directly electric guitar. coz electric guitar needs much accuracy and perfection to play it.so i think let him first buy acoustic and after when he becomes confident then switch to electric one. if m wrong then do correct me plz.
But he asked for the price and the model not the Suggestion :... It has been almost a year I am playing. Still, I don't have an electric guitar....I use one for the gigs which I manage from a frnd of mine but still, I practice and play generally with Acoustic coz it just makes my Fingers suitable for guitaring.....
m afraid dear u missed sumthing. read his post he asked a suggestion wether he should go for electric guitar or acoustic.
thanx for the replies guys....I would prefer an electric rather than accoustic but I am not sure if electric is ok with Indian songs or not....my budget is around $200 (Canadian dollars) .... see for me guitar is just a hobby & I just wanna keep it simple... so just a basic guitar wud do for me...I think.... by the way guys ...I am girl... Only option then ud b to go for custom made guitars without Floyd Rose.....But I will again suggest you, at this price range, an Acoustic guitar ud b a lot better than electric..+ If you buy an electric, you will have to buy an Amp and a Processor or single gadgets(Electric widout processor sux)...So that will be another $300 atleast....So, BUY AN ACOUSTIC GUITAR.......
*drools* *claps* You can make an electric guitar sound like an acoustic guitar. Hope that gets any nagging doubts pending about prowess of electric guitar. But remmeber you need to get peripherals like processor, amps cables etc along with the guitar. Acoustic guitar is a simpler thing. Just tune and strum. Now that we are done, lemme ask you out for a date.
Buy an Applause/ Ovation guitar. Applause are Asian made and hence cheaper. Say around US$400. Gud guitars and great sound.
@ sugata....thanx for the suggestion...but there are a million posts there & all I want is a simple answer to which electric guitar would be good for a beginner for playing indian songs @ alpha1...sure if u r willing to come all the way to toronto! @ruhiman .... np
