    well da rhythm of this song is pretty much like da wonderwall of oasis. oasis guyz hve even criticized greenday 4 copying their tune!!

    rythm

    D DDU (4 each chord), for d part b4 ".. my shadows.." (gap b/w 1st and 2nd downstrokes)

    DdDdU (4 each chord), for d part "my shadows..." (the small d indicates dat these strokes must b applied gently)

    n 4 d last chord in all chord cycles in d song : DUUDUDDU.

    Actually this song is played with a CAPO on the first fret......
    This definitely sounds a lot better.....

    I play it this way : DD DU , its simple n easy to sing along with playing.......

    the original scale is not Em it is Fm, or else wise u play with a capo at the 1st fret........
