^^^ that is only done by uber-harcore-death metal purists ... anyway what is the harm in calling em pop ... weren't htey popular? but i dont like it when they dont include 'em into rock ... :annoyed:

If you have even the slightest inclination towards blues then you really should listen to some stevie ray vaughan records man he's great. And if you've got any interest in jazz guitar then you should listen to joe pass. Then there's Led Zeplin I (it's basically blues),Jeff Beck, B.B.King, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Guy, some satch songs, Jimmi Vaughan, Muddy Waters and even Ray Charles. These guys are unbelievable i still dont understand how they made such great music.
Stevie Ray Vaughn is more bluesy than roxy ... so many ppl may not like his style ... hence my advice ... start listening to bluesy rock ... and then blues will also be palatable ... BLuesy rock ... hmmm .. i think Lynyrd Skynyrd is a gr8 example ...
