acceleration is not determined by engine bhp ...

it is determined by the bhp to weight ratio ... + aerodynamix + gearing ratios ...

for top speed again main criteria is bhp ... but gearing ratio as well as the engine rpm (at the max power) matters ...

 

Yamaha 600r (600cc)

Also known as the Yamaha Thundercat in Europe. Not sure what it's named in Asia.

 

thats yamaha R6 ... thuindercat is a very old name ... don't know if they still continue to market it using that name ...

R6, CBR600 and the likes are used in the Isle of Man TT Race ... one of the most dangerous races ... coz the it is done in Isle of Man (yeah u got it right) ... which is off the coast of Great Britain ...
and the race is held on the normal streets ... with no gaurds on the edges of the road ... can u believe it ...

 

Actually, the Thundercat is the european name for the bike. From what I was able to find out on Yamaha's website, the Thundercat is no longer offered, but the 600R is still offered in the U.S.

Yamaha has two 600cc sportbikes bikes, the 600r and the R6. The Honda CBR600F4i is comparable to the Yamaha YZF600R (600r). The R6 goes more up against the CBR600RR.

 

yeah thats precisely what i remeber ...

CBR600 is best selling in its category ... but bikers trust R6 more ...

anyway those bikes are no way coming to india by next 2/3 years ...

Honestly though, are the roads good enough where a bike can be trusted to be used the way it is designed? i.e leaning through curves, etc.

 

yeah ... u can try ... i know roads in delhi can take it ...
dunno about other places ...
hyderabad ... definitely NO ... coz the ppl here are still from the Stone Age ... have absolutely no traffic sense ... and the roads are crap ...
Chennai ... few roads were good ... but that was some time back ... dont know about the situation now ...
Bombay ... only the concrete roads are properly maintained ... but then the concrete roads are not the best for these kinda bikes (or for that matter any vehicle) ...
Pune ... most of the roads are crap ...
BAngalore ... not been around much so dunno ...
Chandigarh ... not been there ... but it said that it is a well maintained city ...

i dnt own a bike...but hav rode a Honda 900cc Fireblade in pakistan...(Me drivin it myself) didnt drive a Hayabusa...but rode it on da back seat...man itz one kick A $S bike!!

no...ive seen Yamaha R1...n yea...where i live here in abu dhabi...harley davidsons are a lot here....
