some old favs from my india college days:
    led zep going to california.
first half of over the hills and far away
oasis wonderwall unplugged with noel singing and playing.
    poison everyrose
cat stevens wild world covered by Mr Big
gallows pole page and plant live
    kashmir from same ep
pretty child by indus creed - top fav of mine - the kb strings and clean guitars r not unplugged but wtheck its got tabla :)

    nirvana unplugged ep

    more recent stuff:

    seal crazy unplugged
    sting unplugged
    alice in chains unplugged
LL Cool J and Jay Z unplugged EPs have amazing funk grooves.. and no sampling!
    lauren hill unplugged
godsmack unplugged- i was surprised by this one

    and...
how about some shakti :) the ep featuring shankar mahadevan is pretty hip.

best live unplugged concert i attended was zakir hussain and masters of percussion where selva ganesh rocked the house in Seattle with his tiny kanjeera.. that percussion solo even beats Neil Peart's 30 minute signature drum solo which he performs at every rush concert .. which is the best solo act visually in my opinion.

I love the old shakti albums from the 70s
Shakti were labelled "The most electrifying acoustic band"!
listen to their "A handful of beauty" and "Natural elements" albums
    you'll be blown away!

Voice Of The Soul by Death. The main riff is played on acoustic guitar and it's musically the best instrumental I have ever heard.

Afraid not. The part you're referring to being played on acoustic is actually played clean on an electric guitar.

Listen to it again properly, all your doubts will be cleared. And this time with your ears on the original track, not with your eyes on the live video which sux anyway.

Jayanth, are you serious or merely defending?

So man, what was your first pick, between - acoustic and electric, as a beginner?

BTW, was it you who posted a lesson on hearing and playing? that was a good lesson for beginners. I liked the way you disassembled the process and the simplicity in explaining that made easy for starters to understand. And yeah! not forgetting the originality of your work, keep posting originals ;) they are intriguing to read, no matter what the topic is about. All D' best and Sorry to haf' mentioned this here.

Well guys, stupid reason to argue but I shall say it was acoustic guitar in the first two minutes... clean electric sounds much different... but well, i haven't heard the song for sometime...

ive seen a metallica live video..where hetfield plays the intro to unforgiven on acoustic guitars....i dont remember whether it was LIVE SHIT DVD ..I THINK IT WAS LIVE SHIT..
AND YES CLEAN ELECTRIC GUITARS CAN BE IDENTIFIED QUITE EASILY..
