RabindraSangeet Chords

hi people,

i thought if our Arindamda could help us in also getting the chords for some "Rabindra-sangeet".
I tried my hand at the chords for the song "Aami Chini go Chini Tomare, Oogo Bideshinee". I could only get the first stanza...could Arindamda help us in the remaining stanzas?

First Stanza:

apro, your chords are absolutely correct. As a matter of fact, we played this song for the "bijoya shammilani" a couple of weekends back. Good job dude!
Arindam, (I am not using arindam-da as I think you are younger than me) do you, by any chance have the interlude lead of the song "dudh na khele"? I do not remember the name of the band, but I would say it is by chandrabindoo.

arindam da cud u plz elaborate a li'l about 'MINIM' 'QUAVER' 'CROTCHET' and all that u have given in here....i'v just started to play a few chords in guitar and really don have much idea.... :

Hey...these are called "Time Values"....There r 6 types of time values:

1] Semibrave
2] Minim
3] Crotchet
4] Quaver
5] Semiquaver
6] Demisemiquaver

Now when we play any song...there r certain time values which indicates how to play the song,at what time u will release the notes,at what time u will pick the notes,how much time to hold a note/release a note etc etc.....Let's practice the first 4 values here...

1] Semibrave:
========
It means 4 beats with 1 note picked....

p r r r [p-> play a note....r-> rest]

The above means play a note [say "SA"]...take rest for the other 3 beats..then again play "RE"...rest for 3 again...then "GA"...& so on....

2] Minim
=====

It applies as p r p r......

3] Crotchet
=======

It applies as p p p p......

4] Quaver
======

It applies as pp pp pp pp.....i.e. pick 2 notes per beat "SA_RE"..."GA_MA"..."PA_DHA"..."NI_SA"......

i wanted to ask you how do u determine on what scale a song is based?

 

arindam da tomar exercise ta daroon. besh lagchhe bajate.

abir bhai the best way to get scales is by ear. hear a song, identify the root note of the scale, and play it on the guitar.
