I guess everyone here knows what went on with the whole DPS fiasco. Do you think Bazee C.E.O was treated fairly or was he made a scapegoat in this whole thing?

Is this the way India treats its entrepreneurs?

Loose Indian IT Act 2000 is the Culprit!

    It defines:
"67. Publishing of information which is obscene in electronic form.

Whoever publishes or transmits or causes to be published in the electronic form, any material which is lascivious or appeals to the prurient interest or if its effect is such as to tend to deprave and corrupt persons who are likely, having regard to all relevant circumstances, to read, see or hear the matter contained or embodied in it, shall be punished on first conviction with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to five years and with fine which may extend to one lakh rupees and in the event of a second or subsequent conviction with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to ten years and also with fine which may extend to two lakh rupees."

Well, they forgot to mention here how can the transfer be judged as a responsible medium! So any type of transfer takes place is liable for punishment!
    Result... Bazee CEO is fixed!

In anycase, i wish this case moves forward to the Supreme Court and it makes some necessary amendments in the Act to define how a 'Transfer' is taken in to accordance!!
Specially on Ecommerce Enabled Websites, where the sale is with direct two individual users and not the site itself!

I am with the Bazee CEO! Need to revive our Law Acts!

^^Yes, off-topic. The CEO of Baazee was made the scapegoat. I mean come on, if somebody takes time off and reads the regulations of the website, it clearly states that Pornographic material is forbidden on the website. Is it possible for the CEO to keep a tab of every item sold on the website? If there's anyone to blame it's the person who was supposed to identify and clear the item from baazee. Arresting and placing the CEO in a jail is pure idiocy and nothing more.

    tejas ..........

The CEO of Baazee didn't have anything to do with it. He obviously can't keep track of each and every transaction. Its really stupid to arrest him. Whoever put the video on sale is the real culprit, they should try and arrest him instead.

cops over reacted.... they do go hyper at times. i dont know why.
there are so many other wrong things happening in the country and they go unnoticed.......but a tiny thing like this snowballs into such a big issue.......funny.

"Chhota chhota laphda bane police case, bada bada laphda gone without a trace:)"

@disturbed and tejas.....i completely agree wid u. its practically impossible for CEO to scan teh thing which is going on for auction. plus you have to show certain papers to the site before auction any kinda of video to avoid dat...they (who post it) keep it a secret...

@jayanth....arnd more than 60% website on internet are based on porn....its practically impossible to track them.

@kaiser.....i think police over reacted coz of public pressure ....indian public really goes halla bulla when it comes to porn stuff.....remember the milind soman case? ...i dont know why r they quite not annoyed by indian remix vulgar semi porn music video coming out day by day....
