on second note ... go to IIT M if u are keen on going to US ... the system there is very methodical ... and u are bound to get thru even if you are guilty of having low CGPA + low GRE ... go to IIT B for the best placements ... prob the best'est' ... they say IIT K is for those who wanna go to Civvies/IAS thingy .. dont know the reason for it ... but mebbe it has some amount of truth to it ... dunno much about others ...
All the best Soumendra. Prepare yourself to face failure or success to get through IIT. To me it doesn't matter where you do but just what you do and how you do. IIT is surely a big launching pad but not into it is surely not the end of the world. I screwed up education in School, screwed it up in College too but I am in one of the highest paid Engineering jobs as of now. I earn much more than several of my friends who did it in IIT. I am not discouraging but I am just telling you that if you are not in IIT, doesn't mean it's the end of the road for you. I studied in a sick private college but the college had some terrific scholars.
IIT D is the best. ..k, actually it isnt. Personally if I had a choice i wud prefer B or D but then thats me. @sslayer..yeah dude, same with me..5th year and in chem engg...yuck ....anyways,till an mba... software ki jai !!!! Btw...heres a piece of advice, there is always the iit brand name...it works everywhere. If u say that u are from iit, people look upto u..at least thts what i feel. if engg is ur interest, iit's the place.
