power chords hi vijay actually I dont know much about music but power chords or fifth chords are actually just 2 notes the basic note by which the chord is named and the fifth note from it eg A5 or power chord named A consists of A note and the 5th note after it ie. D note .just play these 2 notes on the 6th 5th and 4th string and u wudbe playin powerchord A .Construct others similarly . lets hope this matter is useful to u. have a niceday ! Gauresh.
Power chords Gents - Power chords are just as he described, but perhaps this tab might be more instructive: |---| |---| |---| |-5-| |-5-| |-3-| That's G5 (so named because it's got the G on the bottom and top, and the fifth (D) in the middle). Move up and down the fretboard (stay on those strings, usually) and they're all power chords with different note names. Very useful for playing just about any punk rock or grunge tune.
