friends ,u guys are so confused about the typical lespaul fat warmth sounds
i been playing guitar/progressive guitar for 20 years now
lespaul sound is very disticitve...greg beneth 60% of that sound ,cort around 70%
epiphone get it right on but the pickups especially the neck suck;;;; note most these guitars use veneers...maple veneers, gibsons get it rigth on so does tokai, esp eclipse.
gibsond not less that 95 k good epiphone 30 k....CHANGE PICKIPS TO GET 95% DITICINTIVE LOW MIDS,WARM ,EFFIC HIGHS SOUND...u guys have any query about guitars especially lespaul,,,,get in touch with me .

    gibson studio pro
    gibson standard
    gibson flying v
    epiphone custom/standard/studio....
    ibanez sa-350.

I think he's mainly interested in the body style, not that it should sound exactly like the original les paul.
