your definition of Dmaj7 and D7 seems to be confusing to me. can you verify if that's what you were trying to post it says xx5557 which is C9 in my opinion and 5556 which is C7. else chord looks great to me. but I dont under the difference. Isn't D7 and Dmaj7 supposed to be same coz' D7 is essentially derived from Dmajor which is why Dmin7 would be different ofcourse.
Well spotted. Dmaj 7 is xx7779 and D7 is xx7778. I have used the 4th,3rd,2nd strings as pedal tones and it works quite well in my opinion particularly if you play gmajor 2nd inversion at 7th fret (xx9787) and amajor at 9th fret (xx119109). You cam also play Amajor instead of Dmaj7 and Cmajor insted of D7, but in an accoustic setting this sounds a bit bare and boring. good luck.:beer:
