Carry it in a hard case and take it as hand luggage. They used to allow it until not so long ago- I'm not very sure these days. Call the airlines and find out in advance, or better still email so that you have a written record from them saying they allow you to carry a guitar.
^ I guess they wud'nt allow hand luggage tht does'nt fit in the overhead compartment... the only option i feel is luggage...risky, yes, considering how even foreign airport staff handle luggage these days....took the wheels off my baggage.. :-/
I know a guitar fits in a Jet flight because I've carried it with me. I'm sure the guitar will fit. You just need to make sure you go in early so you have one compartment to yourself.
