Advanced Guitar Tutorial : Moving up the fretboard.

    but the next of urs 'll b very helpfull fa many... coz blues scale are nice to learn......

    THE LEAST YOU NEED TO KNOW

    The left hand can easily cover about four to five frets in range.

    Moving the left hand up the neck is said to change it to a higher position. The fifth position, for example, is defined as locating the left hand to reach the five frets to eight.

    Changing position helps us play higher notes on the guitar more easily.

    A portamento is a glide between two notes, in which each note is played by the right hand. A slide is a similar motion, except the second note is not played but simply sounds as fretting finger arrives.

    Sometimes it's easier to play a note on different strings to facilitate fingering.

    By lightly damping a string, we can produce bell-like tones called harmonics. This is an important effect in many pieces.
