I have a Givson (yeah its Givson - local rip off -.-) G150 accoustic guitar...I wanna get a good semi electric for practice or maybe even performance...But since I just dont have enough money for the thing (plus an amp), I was thinking...Is there any way in which I can modify my current guitar into a semi electric...after all a semi electric is the same as an accoustic...the only change being a pickup in the guitar's body to channel the sound through an amp? Its just a thought, maybe its not possible but in case it is, please tell how can I do it? I had read about people who made their own electric guitars...please help?

    Its totally possible...even common practice
Just take the guitar to a luthier...but it wont be a substitute for an electric guitar..

I understand that it is not a substitute for an electric...But I guess it'll be almost as good as a semi electric? Just for practice?
If possible, please tell me the estimated price as well for the process...
    Thanks a lot ^_^
