I simply love his arguments and the way he made his points (and also made the Pol Parties look like clowns).

One of the thigns he said was: if the pol parties are against me, that means they are actaully opposing the cause.
In that case they are opposing the cause of these villagers.

    LMAO.

Im sure its a good thing to step out and help someone..but when a celebrity does it, always ask yourself exactly how much of it he's doing for media attention and other similar factors involved.

If the media attention is more important then the cause just becomes the sidelines. Its all politics...and like pretty much all other political advances that are attmpted in the Indian govt. this aint gonna bring home much. But theres no harm in praying

i think itz gonna help....we all felt gud and charged up when we saw RDB...& it seems that the movie has done smthng gud to him(Amir) too...he has again initiated somethng gud...
on the same lines....i remember Sanjay Dutt organised a concert to collect funds to help Tsunami victims....
Bollywood is an influential section of India....it wud always b gud if sm1 from there wud come frwd to do smthng gud.....

    Garima,
i cant help but agree with you, which almost contradicts what i said only a few minutes ago. Bollywood IS an influential party and does have the whole country under it. It definitely is touching when youve got people settin up fundraisers for needy causes.

Which makes me sit and wonder if i was accurate when i said its mostly done for media attention. I know that, in the US it is. But is it alwys like that in India? Money harassment..hellya! but then thats another thread!

why is everyone so cynical bout aamir's "true motives???" maybe he actually does care about the issue - isnt apathetic - and has the guts to put his rep on the line...good on him...at least someone's taking a stand...

aamir is the last guy who'd do this for attention. he dont need it. in fact he's critical of the media n stays away from it anyway.

and hey, there are good guys in the film industry. its not that all celebs have a 'selfish ulterior motive.'

    chhah...

I guess aamirs participation in narmada bachao is not goin to make big diff. coz da movement was intiated in 1984. its almost 22 years medha patkar is workin 4 them. but nothin has changed. if they really wanted to resettle, they wud have worked hard 4 these 20 years & now they cud b rich enough 2 by their own house!!!!

ya but there r guys doing everythng for PR. e.g. Shahrukh donating 1 lakh for tsunammi in front of national media, Vivek going wid his Kisna banners to Shri Lankan villages etc.
Bt Aamir's publicity is in his staying away from media and any award functions. He's the a class apart from most other celebs in India. His films are nt flimsy and portray his personality.

    Rock on aamir
