Let's swing the mood a bit and get into a simple blues using chords that are easy to fret. Here's the tab. Remember you may need to set your font to Courier or Courier New to read this. Duration letters with no fret number below them represent rests. ----------------------------- This is a piece for two guitars, chords and melody. But you can play both parts yourself by recording one part on a tape recorder and playing it back while you play the other part. Also, I recommend singing the melody as you strum the chords. The blues is one of the simplest song forms to play; it's totally "friendly" to beginners, and it can be super easy to play on the guitar. One of the most common types of blues uses only three chords in 12 bars, as you saw in the previous tab. And the great feeling you get from these basic sounds motivates you to learn more difficult material, or at least to keep practicing, and keep playing. So, if you're ever on the verge of quitting your guitar training, maybe frustrated from a lack of progress or boring material, learn some blues.
what you posted is not much of a blues I'm not trying to down you but when you talk about blues you have a lot of bends, turnarounds etc.fellings man!!! I played blues a little but was enough to use bends it makes the music more lively also implement "call" and "answer back" to your licks, I heard a black guy play an old guy there is no t bone, B.B king or eric who can touch this guy and he implemted alot of bends and turnarounds.I live in the south where blues was made!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Blues doesn't mean bends. Blues was just an extension of R&B. Check out 50s Blues, there were lot of solos which was played only in chords. Blues do use a lot of bends but that's not the only thing about it.
Yes I agree, it does not have to be about all bends,Bobby did a good post,he did more of a 'swing' you got all different styles but puting bends at the right point is what gives the blues its feeling, but going back to the 'slavery days' mostly in the south parts of the U.S.A. you had this type of music that was comfort to the blacks, this was hope in disguise, the early blues every couple of notes in a lick had bends, every note carried a feeling,I guess for a crying effect. A lot more music later eventually used this R&B, southern rock, gospel, etc.I was fortunate enough to vist a church in Alabama I used the word fortunate because I could have walked in at any time, but a church goer keep asking 4 a 100 time, and just to please him I did go, when I saw the music inst.I said no way these little hick town ppl could play, I was wrong, singers, choir ,guitarist they were good some were crying while the sang also the guitar too!!!some say they make guitar talk!!!but its all about feeling, but everybody got different style, There's a lot behind blues that the world don't know , you gotta live it!!!
