Fire and Ice -- Robert Frost Some say the world will end in fire, Some say in ice. From what I've tasted of desire I hold with those who favor fire. But if it had to perish twice, I think I know enough of hate To say that for destruction ice Is also great And would suffice.
The Eagle - Sir Alfred Lord Tennyson HE clasps the crag with crooked hands; Close to the sun in lonely lands, Ringed with the azure world, he stands. The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls; He watches from his mountain walls, And like a thunderbolt he falls. ---------- This is one of my favourite poems. The sheer power of imagery makes this poem rated much higher than it should. The picture created is one of power, speed and ruthlessness.
