Some thrashy song I came up with. No vocals. Some parts are sloppy. I did some normalising and reduced >10kHz levels slightly, in Audacity. Washburn WI64D->Zoom GFX-707II->Guitar rig 2 Parametric equaliser->Marshall cabinet sim->Tapedeck Drums and bassline is MIDI generated till I learn to use VSTi properly. Cool dude. The tone sounds pretty fine to me. Infact this tone would be great for Hairmetal. For thrash I guess, you should have more gain, less low-mids, more high-mids. (That is slightly diff voicing). Anyway its all personal preferenace. To me, Slayer's tone is more apt for hardrock/power metal. But to many others, taht tone is perfect for thrash metal.
For me thrash metal would mean something like Testament or Anthrax, and to some extent Megadeth. ("tone" wise). I'm still trying to get to that (as close as possible with a 707II) I'll try out the voicing you've suggested. @.:SpY_GaMe:. , Devilshly_Pur$ : Thanks a lot! I'll put up a less sloppy version someday :
Good one .. If 1st recording is this cool .. I could just wait for more n more. Keep up the good work.
@SG1: I don't like it much either. But at this moment I can't really do anything to it without altering it to something totally different. Any help on eqing is greatly appreciated! @anshammer: It is my first recording, yes. @notty_lad: Glad to hear it. I can't play the guitar for a while now due to renovation in the house, but hope to have something more in the near future.
