The transition from pallavi to charanan and again in charanan கண்ணே உந்தன் is superb. Lovely song. Thank you
Hi Rajesh, Thank you very very very much for posting the chords for this beautiful song on my personal request. Lovely singing by SPB sir and Janaki Amma. Love the Guitar and Bass throughout the song. What a composition!!! Coming to your chords, as per your advice, I played both versions 5 times each. 1st Version: I played with D Major chord as it is in your post 2nd Version: I replaced all D Major with D Major 7th and played. I chose to keep D7 throughout due to the below reasons: 1. Though there is a subtle difference in the sound between D and D7, D7 sounded a lot better. 2. After D7, Eb6 follows immediately and vice-versa. So, the way I played is - I held D7 in a Barre Chord style using my index finger on the 1st Fret and held 2nd and 3rd fingers in 2nd Fret as normal. For Eb6, I fixed my index finger on 1st Fret and shifted my 2nd and 3rd fingers from 2nd Fret to 3rd Fret on the same strings for D7 to Eb6 progression. This is much easier to keep up with the tempo of the song. For D7 chord, I played only the 1st 3 strings and for Eb6 I played the 1st 4 strings. I found this easier for the progression and it also sounded really good. I thoroughly enjoyed the chords start to finish. In particular, I enjoyed the below lines: In Pallavi: Kavi[Eb6]dhai [D7] poo virithaal - Eb6 to D7 is awesome! What a sound!!! [D7] Muthu pol sirithaal Mettu [Gm] pol malarndhaal - D7 to Gm transition is superb! In Charanam: [Gm] Poovai nee… poo ma[D7]dal Gm to D7 is fantastic (In Pallavi it is the reverse! Wow! what a composition) [Gm] Thaen kadalil dhinamey [Gm] Kulithaal magizh[Cm]ven [Cm] Maan vizhi yengudhu[G]… Gm to Cm to G is fabulous! What a transition from Gm to G here!!! [Cm]Maiyalum [G]yerudhu [Cm]Poongodiyai pani pol Medhuvaai thazhu[D7]vu Cm to G to Cm to D7 is lovely here! I truly loved it!!! [Bb]Kannae undhan koondhal oram [Cm]Kangal moodi thoongum neram [D7]Inbam kodi oonjal [Gm]aadum Bb to Cm to D7 to Gm is attagaasam... As TripRavi said, [Bb]Kannae undhan koondhal oram... [Cm]Kangal moodi thoongum neram is chancey-illa. Semma super!!! [D7]Ullam [Eb]pogum [D7]oorvalam I totally loved the last line where it goes from D7 to Eb to D7... Wow! What a progression!!!! Thank you again for the superb chords Rajesh... Truly enjoyed playing it. Kind regards, Vijay
