here are the tabs for the lead for Rang De Basanti, I have also attached a mp3 recording of me playing this lead. Whatever instrument they are using in the song, they are getting half a tone....but this is as close as it gets on a guitar...try it out. If any of you can improve this, then please do so.

Was waiting for this. Will try once I reach home. I too believe they are using those 23 notes per Octave I read about in classical indian music

Doodwala, I tried your tabs and liked it very much. Check out the corrections below. Blue notes have been added by me and the read part are the modified notes.

    Code:

    e---8--10--8--7--8--7----------------------------------
    B------------------------10--11--10--[COLOR="Red"]7--10--7--7--8[/COLOR]-------
                                                   ^ Low, can use 6

I have annotated the above tabs with High & Low. A High means that in the original tune this note is between the n & n+1 th fret on the guitar and hence cannot be played. A close approximation is playing n twice. Same goes for notes marked Low.

    Try it out folks.

In this thread the B & e are the strings 2 and 1. They are the 2 strings highlighted in bold - EADGBE

    Why? .........

Because the rest 4 strings were unused and since I did not start the post but only suggested corrections, left the notation of the thread initiator.
