Hey, I wanted to know how HMI guitars stack up against the rest of the competition. HMI makes guitars for fender too. The company claims to make good guitars. I found their definitely had sustain and good build quality. They are cheaper too as they don't have to be imported. But i am just a beginner and say much about their tone etc. Does anybody else have any experience with them?
Website is nice.. But they make guitars for FENDER? I dont think that is true I could be wrong. Fender does do offshore guitars on their cheaper models but that would be squire. I am not sure about them making guitars for either Fender or Squire. But never the less they are good guitars. EDIT post: Many manufacturers outsource their jobs. So yes HMI must be making bodies and necks for them. To give you an Example SAMICK makes guitars for many manufacturers My Ibanez SA is actually made by Samick the inspection Tag on the guitar says so.
Yes I did say SQUIRE. and not Fender. Squire is inexpensive Fenders like Epiphone is inexpensive Gibson. As I said many Manufacturer outsourse their jobs to cut costs. Please do read my edited post. I think this is the same factory that made Guitars under the PSR guitars brand (NOT PRS guitars) . My friend has one of them it is a strat copy nice metallic green burst finish. Good guitar. To Ans your initial Question Yes I think they are good guitars and better then a low end Ibanez, ESP ext ext ext.
I believe I have seen their products ... but that was very long time back. Some other Harmony? Possible ... And I do remember Tansen - strat - first elec guitar I picked up (college music room) - it was HEAVY! (And I didn't like the extremely loud G string pickup)
HEy Alpha how are you. Its been along time since I posted here. What I seen on ther website they are using Basswood which is Light weight. Maybe they changed over to Basswood.
