umm...why have u made the video with wrong chords??

the chords are definately wrong at many places...didnt ur ear notice that?i'm a beginer but can still understand that they r wrong..we IGT ians xpect better lessons from semi pro's like you..

    anyways

    C.....Dm..G is correct but then
    for
tum ho toh hai, sapno ke jaisa hasin ek saamaa..the chords are

    Gm............F...Bm...................Em..F....C..
tum ho toh hai, sapno ke jaisa hasin ek saamaa

    then for chorus:

    G E7 Am F (2) they r correct in the video

    G..........................C.........Em................F...................C
    Tum ko hai mangti...yeh zindagiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

    Gm........Bb..........C
Oh ho oh ho oh ho ho ho ho

    regards,

sayantan_guha, tone it down man. By sounding so angry you're not helping anyone. The chords aren't wrong, they're just different. I think you can play them either way.

Although, correct me if i'm wrong, isn't there some finger picking in the beginning?

i am not angry but Gm cant obviously be played as a Dm...

    Hello Sayantan,
    Thanks for the feedback..
There are 2 ways to perform a song you play with all the instruments as played in the song or play unplugged. What i played was unplgged version, i dont have to tell you how you can play and Em instead of G and a Dm instead of F.....
The way one shud figure out a tough songs chords which are not clearly relating is by following the BASS line of the song, The bass line is always the note of the chord and if it moves it moves in the scale...This song is on the C scale if you see the C scales its a pure scale with all major notes and no sharp in it...so in thi songs there would be many places where you can improvise ...
So even if i play the way i played in the video its not wrong !!!!
No hard feelings bro, chill and enjoy the song...

dont worry james lol, the only thing sayantan can do is criticise. I haven't seen any posts of him saying anything positive about someone elses tabs. Just ignore insecure people like him. Good work btw!

    thnx for the complement...

    what i learnt from IGT:-

    correcting others is wrong
learning new things from others is wrong
providing the (almost)correct chords is wrong too

well i guess thts too much

when do u provide ur own chords? There's nothing wrong with your criticism, it's just that a bit of complimenting wouldn't hurt either.

Sayantan, correcting people is definitely not wrong. What IS wrong is HOW you correct them. If the chords are incorrect, be professional about it. Tell them that in a way that doesn't sound rude, or hurtful. That's all there is to it man.

we can call this a typical problem we face with a SEL song

in the case of the song kabhi alvida na kehna most of us used to play F...Bb...F for the first line, but then ehsaan posted that it would be F...Gm...F and told us that using the relative minor of Bb i.e.Gm gives the song a SOFT feeling...so i think Gm is good enough for this song or maybe Gm7 as bjr mentioned

yeah you are right, this is a very well known problem, sometimes we can not differentiate the relative minor chord with the actual chord
