Aforementioned Chords/Tabs are Incorrect for Nusrat's "Sanu Ek Pal Chain" For those who are basing their requests from Nusrat's album versions (Album: Night Songs) of "Sanu Ek Pal Chain," you must pay more attention. First and foremost, the key he sings in is F (major scale). It is a similar to jazz scales, and this is what makes this song brilliant. A common misperception is that the chords are simply F and then Dm, or whatever you want to call it...G and Em, etc. Except it's a little more 'pop' or 'jazzy' if you listen carefully. First off, the bass guitarist is tabbing the following sequences: "F...A...C" for every 4 beats, and then plays: F (high octave) -- D -- C -- A -- G -- E...back to F--A--C cycle.... There are about 2 guitarists, one on a 12 string guitar..and the strumming pattern is not difficult to mimic by listening to the song. The main chords are F and Gm(7), NOT Dm. There is a totally different emotional (and musical) response when the chords are played differently...Gm(7) gives it a lighter feel to it, while Dm is too strong. A combination of Dm(7) and Am(7) and C(dom7) and even Bb(maj7) or Bbmin6 are also used later in the song...including a short part of C# major during Farrukh Fateh Ali Khan's (Nusrat's brother) during the last alaap portion. Try it out and play along with it; it's a beautiful song! Good luck, and best wishes to you all!
i just feel easier for the scale n wat not to play it on the same chords as Manwa Re by ali noor...the starting part atleast...that on F# and A#...or Bb if you wanna call it..same chord positioning...works for me
I am sure there is F# in this song with the mix of Bm... Guyz this song is covered by some fellow in Movie 'Enjoy' or 'Wheres the part yaar'... dnt remember the name... its only on guitar and table.. nice version..
