Posting after a really long time, sort of in a hitch.
need to get a new PC, not too high end , not too low end, should be able to run vista with Aero 3D. Should be able to run most games.
this is what i have come up with

CPU: Intel core 2 duo e6300
    MB: Intel 965
    RAM: 2GB Corsair 667 Mhz
HDD: 400 GB SATA or SATA II Western Digital
    DVD-RW: Plextor 76 U or A (if not available sony 120C)
    Graphics Adapter: nVidia 7900GTX (PCIe)
    VIP powersupply 450W-400W

Dont ask me to go for AMD, i cant do that. My budget is 30-35k. and please suggest a good mobo with the 965 chipset.

The RAM + gfx card+processor itself would cost more than 30-35K..your config needs a serious revision.

Dont go by that article, all prices have been changed now.Get a 7600GT, it will be in the 8.5-9.5K range.Core 2 Duo(@1.86GHz) with Intel M/B would be around 12-13K minimum.2 Gigs of RAM would be around 10K..already over 30K total.

    ok..am toning down the GFX..
goin for 7300 LE TC...no GDDR tho :(
i got a quote of 46k with that,7900 GS costs me another 9 K more []...
    so what say now ?

yea i guess the config is high end for now...but i know one thing that this aint gonna change for the next 5-6 years now....so its high enough to not be obsolete in the next those many years..

EDIT: last i cheked 7600 and the 7800 series isnt available :( and like i said 7900 GS alone costs me 9 K more....GTX is way over the limit...and the guy i know is reliable...not the kinds to over charge.

Dude, do NOT go for a LE card, and I would steer clear of anything with TurboCache.I suggest a 7600GS at the minimum(costs under 6.5K).Remember that this wont be enough to run future games, most of which will have ridiculous system reqs, what with Vista also hogging resources. No gfx card will future proof your rig for the next 3 years even, forget 5-6 years. So, go with this now, and upgrade later.I am really surprised to hear that 7600 and 7800 are out of stock, sounds unlikely.

Maybe go with 1GB of RAM for now, you can always put in 5K for another gig of RAM in the future. For some reason you dont want Athlon, else I would have suggested a Athlon X2@3.6 Ghz(Dual Core), costs about 5.5K.

    For 35K, I can think of Core2Duo+Intel M/B ~13K
    7600GT ~ 9K
    1GB RAM ~ 6K
    Other stuff ~ 7-8K
