I feel u shud go with F spaced coz its better to avoid the E string from falling outside the line of the pole. F spaced is generally considerd as a pickup with wider spacing in the poles, this way ur string will always be inline with the poles. For best sound the strings actualy pass from the center of the poles but its better to get F spaced at the Bridge Position and a normal one at the Neck. Dude, there is only one way to gauge your problem, and that is by listening to it live. If you have a microphone recording of clean as well as distortion, probably we can understand
