So far, I am known only through my tabs in this Forum............

In the past there were lot of requests from members for a video or audio clip of my play / work....

Here we go with my first video........ My First Video on Youtube - YouTube

I preferred a mix of different recordings (both photo & video) rather than a full song.....

My office colleague / friend Harish Kurudi has done this possible - photos, videos, editing and making this movie through Movie Maker....

Hope you will enjoy it........ Sathya

Nice Sathya... Expecting a complete song rather than bits and pieces...

The full songs recorded in a DVD turned hostile today. So we spent time to make this movie out of recordings and photos taken simultaneously through a Nikon SLR camera. If we are not able to retrieve the DVD, we may have to rerecord again.

But today's our experiment in editing and making a movie through Movie Maker was an awesome one. Hope we have made it decently.... Sathya

Thanks Senthil. Credit goes to my friend Harish who is an emerging photographer. He did this in HD quality. By the way, he is fond of Black and White and hence more BW videos and photos........... Sathya

Sathya, are u feeling harder when u play acoustic guitar than solid? I know u have been playing in solid for long time and bought an acoustic recently.

I am very comfortable in solid, but my fingers are hurting in acoustic, esp when playing barred chords, couldn't play for long. It's a high end guitar too. Does anyone else have the same problem? Or is it because of that I haven't touched the acoustic for nearly 20 yrs and restarted recently.

Yes Senthil. I started with acoustic and I had all the problems including hardening of fingers. When I found the first barre chord (F Major) not coming out, I moved to electric guitar (solid). Suddenly, I found everything is so simple in guitar - barre chord was easy, barre chord sound made me exited, able to play for long time (as compared to acoustic) etc... The only difficulty in solid guitar is that any mistake (or wrong pickings) will get exposed through the amplifier. Playing open chords were not that great for me in electric guitar.

So I moved back to acoustic now. It may be difficult, but learning in hard instrument gives a solid base. Now I am able to play barre chords too in acoustic. My video is a proof.

I would like to continue in acoustic for next few years - learn more open chords and practice more scale progressions.

Ultimately I will move to electric guitar......................... Sathya

Thanks Super-Admin. Yes, this is a more video editing work. The DVD is working in the Handycom very well. It has two full songs (some editing is required) - but the same is not playing in laptop. May be file extension issues - or I do not know. I will put full videos sometime.......... Sathya

Yes Senthil... this is because of acoustic guitar not touching for years... to start with, use extra light strings (< .010) which will not hurt your fingers and best for acoustic beginners... Once you are comfortable then you can move on to => .011 which sounds good for strumming...

Thanks Jimi. Rivers of Babylon is a classical style song in C Major. The song starts in G Major and moves to C Major and it is always nice to play the opening lines............... Sathya

Thanks for the input Suresh, I am using Anti Rust Elixir 0.12

    https://www.amazon.com/Elixir-Anti-Rust-Acoustic-Strings-Original/dp/B000P5LVRG

I am not sure whether I will be able to get <0.10 in Anti Rust. I'll try as per your suggesstion.

A higher gauge (thicker string) has more volume, longer sustain and a generally warmer tone(more overtones, less bright, less treble versus bass volume), but is harder to play due to the increased force required to fret and bend strings. Lighter gauges are easier to play but sound thinner and sometimes buzz, applies to Beginners for easier playing.
