Nice observation Rajesh..U got it right. This variant of F#7 was popularised by Blues musicians in the 60's.. Blues Legend BB King extensively used this chord in his popular number "Thrill Is Gone"..Chords Progression was like this: G7-F#7-Bm. I recommend you to hear this classic song.
