Nice song and chords, Senthil. I agree with Suresh's comments, don't recollect hearing this too many times.
I could be wrong, but I believe there was another song in the movie, which I recollect got all the attention when this movie was released.

I remember watching this movie in Madurai Ambigai. Those days I go to movies just for IR's name in it. Aavarampoo is a great movie directed by Barathan, has long footages for IR's BGMs. Album was also quiet popular, it also has 1. Saami kitta solli vachu, 2. Adukku Malli, 3. Aalolam Paadi, 4. Mandhiram idhu. Above song is my pick of the album.

If u never heard the album, pls try.

Thanks Senthil. Definitely heard the other songs as well.
I think Aalolam Paadi was also popular, I am sure others were as well.

Good work Senthil. This movie like many more is better known for its songs. 'Manthiram' song happens to be my personal fav.
BTW, I think you might have wrongly placed chords in this line:
    '(C)ninaivo verum (G)kanavo
    idhu (C)edhuvo....'

I think this was the beginning of rise of ARR with his international instruments and mixing. but we people really missed to praise such a great album like this. But one thing I became very clear. new instruments alone is not enough. pls do not mistake it for anti-Arr type statement

Advent of ARR is inevitable. If not ARR, someone would have introduced the technology and divert the people's attention towards him. IR's was upto date with his technology until early 90s. When someone introduced a new stuff, he did not want to adopt that technology, just because it was not introduced by him. Imagine how nice it would be having IR's music in ARR's recording quality.

Thats not a problem of IR... its the technology era period. But now, IRs quality of mixing is greally good... especially Heyram and Virumandi did great justice.. and Azhagi a great album but very much underestimated by the modern youths... I dono y these ppl are not even ready to hear NANDHALAALAA... a pleasant album... the script required only a slow melody... hence all the songs were like that... but many... even some IR lovers did not mentions as one of his bests... for me Nandhalala has been my fav. in recent years... 'onnukonnu...' 'kaiveesi..' 'mella.. oorndhu..' are just extraordinary...

It really pains that ppl (none are so perfect in the world) is pointing out the personal characteristics of IR for not listening to his songs... being humble or rude is not going to do anything with the talent... but ppl always keep the humble and talented only on the upper hand.. and at times ppl fall for the stage performances...

afterall, we are the same people who are reason for the defeat of Kamaraj....
