Hi Friends, Wanted to share this with music lovers, some of the IR fans amongst us - Some of us were lucky and felt blessed to watch IR perform his magic, live yesterday. It was amazing! We saw some of the instrumental celebrities (eg., Mr. Arunmozhi on flute, Mr. Sada on guitar) in action as well. Most of us were spell bound and surprised to know that 'Nila adhu vanathu mele' was originally composed as a lullaby song. And, IR sang this version for us, simply superb! It may be telecast in our satellite tvs soon. Rajesh
Glad u enjoyed the show. Heard Nj show was lot better than Toronto. IR should consider not repeating the same old Janani Janani, Idhayam oru Koyil etc. for ages.

Rajesh, Those clippings are not from media.... its recorded personally from our fans... not that much clarity.. need to watch in Television. Lets wait for that...
SPB, IR, Karthik and a few unnamed female singers sang well. I didn't particularly enjoy some of other the other big names. Kaathalin deepam and Raathiriyil songs were well sung. Hariharan should rehearse well before a concert, IR asked him to re-sing the end of 'Nee paarth paarvai'! Even the dependable Chithra wasn't blemish free. YSR honestly should stick to composing only. His singing was terrible even in 'Saindhu saindhu'. Understandably many of IR's earlier singers are in retirement - KJY, PJ, SJ, VJ, etc. Only evergreen SPB seems to retain his magic. The instrumentalists were as usual amazing! Performing complex orchestrations (like 'sundari kannal...') very well indeed. Arunmozhi (flautist) never seems to miss a note! Rajesh :music:
That's true Rajesh, We (myself and my wife) also felt the same thing. Even KJY has lost his golden voice and is struggling. IR can try KJY songs through VY in stage performances. Somehow IR has built a decent substitute for SJ, Swarnalatha and Jency..... Sathya
He screwed up the original also, Shaan's Telugu version is lot better. YSR lost his grip in composing too, no big hit in recent times.
