searching the endless skies i see a black bird, almost as black as me i wonder weather she flies alone secluded and separated, in a world of her own.. i wonder if she knows about friends about family, about relations without an end i wonder if she really is as free in the endless skies, as free as she seems to be.. i wonder if her bread, like mine, is snatched from her mouth i wonder if the "others" in the sky are as bossy and uncouth i wonder if she, like me, knows what is it like to be homeless i wonder if she, like me forever wants to quit this ugly mess.. i wonder if she, like me is spat upon without a reason i wonder if she, like me does not rejoice any season i wonder if she understands, the value of an identity i wonder if anyone up there comforts her with empathy.. i wonder if her sky is as lonely as my street i wonder if for her too, it is this difficult to make ends meet i wonder if she, like me, cries herself to sleep i wonder if she, like me, fears the dark memories she has to keep.. but then i see a white pigeon a harbinger of peace, as they say.. he flies close to the black bird and probably asks her to fly away.. and then the sky is filled with birds i weep silently, for i have no words then i know they don't follow races in the sky they love unconditionally, they dont have to try.. then i wonder with tears in my eyes will my world ever be as beautiful, as this one in the skies will we all, whites and blacks create our identities based on truth, peace, friendship and not on ruthless lies will our lives ever be like these birds? will we ever.. learn to work together,.. play together.. breathe together.. live together..
it took me 3 reads to really understand it .... i thought its about black and white people but its more ...anyways are you black? lol
beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder..makes all the more sense to u i guess.. : pretty and b'ful are different things.. p.s. wont u say anything about the poem?
maybe .. but seriously black and white is all same... just the perspective... for example in ancient Persia, gods are called Ahuras and demons called Daevas (in India devas are gods, asuras the demons) another example is... in Voldemort’s universe, Harry Potter is evil, So, instead of saying “If your god is my demon you must be the devil”, we can see that these are but two different ways of life.
