Hi guys it's me again. I made a thread earlier but guess what my interest in Music Changed. :O
That was when i listened to G3 and Avenge Sevenfold. :p
I bought a Yamaha ERG 121 (Indonesian). It is awesome and sounds like a Strat(Twang twang in Pickup selector in Pos 2,4). But when i am on the Overdrive channel its suckss bigtime. I can't get much clarity.
My musical influences are Joe Satch, Steve Vai, Synyster Gates. I like SYN's tone and Vai's style and maybe his tone also a bit. (i'm taking about the time when he played with Satch and Eric Johnson in G3 "My guitar wants to kill your mama")
I'm thinkin of exchanging this guitar next week at the Shop. So suggest me some hard rock and metal guitars(and i love divebombs and screams).
I love the Pacifica 112v but sadly it has Vintage trem. Should i change my Pups or Should i buy a another Axe. My guitar cost me 16k here and the Pacifica is 25k and so is the Cort x6.
Please suggest me what to do. Max budget : 35k its urgent reply before Sunday please.

Try the ESP LTD H-330 NT or LTDs in that range...

Eric Johnson played with Satch and Vai. Who is this Gates and when did he feature?

For the guitar - why don't you check out Ibanez RG series?

Ibanez RG or S series would be a good bet. They have ultra thin necks well suited for 80's shred guitar styles.

Now that the new S series have started getting 24 fret necks, choosing between the RG and S series is becoming extremely difficult. I personally feel that the S series' ZR tremolos are every so slightly smoother than the Edge Zero trems on the current RGs. Moreover, I prefer the darker tones of mahogany over basswood.

Go for Ibanez RG or the S Series guitar. I have a RG420eg. Its way too good. Great pickups and good playability!!!

I'm talking about Synyster Gates from Avenge Sevenfold and Gates never featured in G3. I just said that i like his tone.
EG- "Welcome to the Family", "Nightmare" from A7X's Nightmare album.

I've seen the reviews of some Corts. These guitars look very good on paper. What do you guys think about them?
    .
.2. What do you think about modding my current Axe? Will it be any good .

Quite frankly the tone of the guitar has practically nothing to do with the brand/make/model/shape of the guitar.
The only thing in the guitar that really matters to the tone = pickups. Which you can always change if you don't like.

Tone is decided by the guitar amp you buy and the cabinet.
Or in more the economic cases - the pedals/processor/effects that you put in.

And only if you intend to abuse the whammy bar like Steve Vai, should you actually go in for a new guitar for more price. The price you pay is for the floating bridge with locking nut. If you have no intention to dive bomb every fifth note that you play - then take the cheaper way out and replace the pickups of your current guitar.

But before doing that - what exactly is you signal chain right now? Guitar => pedal => amp

My signal chain is pretty simple now.
    Yamaha ERG 121 => Soundx 20w Amp
or Guitar => Pc (Amplitube) => Amp
The amp sounds semi-decent and with Amplitub it sounds like crap.

To be honest, I not aware of SoundX amp.
For the amount that you want to "waste" on a new bling bling guitar - GET A PROCESSOR.
You will get awesome one for that budget.
And that will help you close on to any artist tone that you wish to copy much faster than getting a guitar or changing the pickups.
