So hello everybody. I'm 15 and have been learning guitar for the last 11 months.
I own a crappy Signature hollow body electric (or acoustic??[width=1.1 inch]) with Single Coil neck pickup.
    .
    .
This a really crappy guitar as we all know. Sounds like a mandolin if you hit the strings hard.
    .
I'm thinking of jump. Should i get a good acoustic or an electric ? :-/
    i'm really comfused.
I play RHCP type of songs mostly (john Frusciante). Can play these moderately fast. (at Dani California solo's speed). I also love the metal sound and also play Hendrix. I would love a versatile guitar. I'm thinking H-S-S or Something close to John but i love metal.
    Budget: 20k upto 24k

Get a Yamaha pacifica 112v it is a decent guitar H-S-S configuration or if you wish to go for a standard strat or tele type guitar look for the Squire Classic Vibe series. Check out these in a guitar store play them for yourself and decide.

    1. Electric guitar is not an UPGRADE over acoustic

But it has easier playability and does provide a vast area of playing.

That's Exactly why i'm jumping to Electric. Now suggest me some Good guitars for The Red Hot Chili Peppers sound.

hey if u really wanna play johns songs well then u shud get an electric..much easier to play too..the cv strat is solid but i doubt ur gonna get a satisfying metal sound with it..

I wanted a versatile guitar too and this is what i got, maybe u shud check it out:

    Blade: Texas PTH-3

i know u have probably never heard of the brand before but they make quality stuff..just right for your price range too..

I seem to be liking the Yamaha. Does the Bridge hold the Tune well with some whammy abuse. Can it atleast give some Eddie Van Halen sound? LIKE in the Beat it Solo.

No, the bridge is good for just some light vibrato and stuff as it doesnt have a locking nut(i am talking about the 112v). At that budget there arent any guitars with workable tremolos. The only good double locking ones are the Original Floyd Roses or the Edge Zero or the ZR bridge from ibanez. Dont go after a tremolo at this stage because you wont be using it in your playing for a long time and the playable ones are expensive. And for Yamaha look out for pacifica 112j and 112v. 112v is the better one buy that one.

    What about Q.2?
And Squier bullet HSS vs. Pacifica 112v.

Between the two the squier doesnt even stand a chance, the 112v is a very good bang for buck guitar. The only squires i have liked are the Classic Vibe ones

You can't get a good floyd. Don't get it.

If you can play the Beat It solo, then yeah it may just about pull it off, but dont get too crazy with the whammy though, just some light vibrato is all it can handle.
If you would have read my post #10 carefully you would have your answers already.
